EPASPEED 1.0 B.TUNING FOR TQ – INSTALLATION GUIDE
Important:
• Keep the bike’s engine TURNED OFF during installation.
• Disconnect the system power by unplugging the main connector located beneath the battery.
Step 1: Display Removal
Unscrew and remove the central display mounting screw to detach the display from the frame.
Step 2: Identify the Display Connector
Locate the connector with the central red line — this is the original connection point for the display unit.
Step 3: Disconnect the Display Connector
Carefully disconnect this connector.
⚠️ Important: Do not pull by the wires — always grip the rigid plastic housing to avoid damage.
Step 4: Connect EPAspeed Connectors 1 and 2
Connect EPAspeed connectors 1 and 2 to the display connector ends.
⚠️ Ensure alignment arrows are perfectly matched before pushing the connectors together.
Step 5: Route Cable 3
Insert EPAspeed connector 3 through the display opening and guide it inside the down tube, toward the motor area within the battery housing.
- Use a wire puller or cable guide for easier routing.
- Remove the battery only if absolutely necessary for access.
Step 6: Connect to EPAspeed Module
Connect to the Motor
Once the cable has been successfully routed out through the down tube,
connect Connector 3 to the EPAspeed module using the wire marked "Yellow".
⚠️ Caution: Ensure that Connector 3 is matched precisely with the corresponding yellow-marked connector on the EPAspeed module. Incorrect connection may result in engine malfunction or permanent damage.
Connect to the Speed Sensor
Locate the speed sensor connector near the motor.
Carefully disconnect it by holding the plastic connector, not the cables.
Plug in EPAspeed connectors to the respective male and female sensor connectors.
STEP 7: Verifying Tuning Functionality
1. Reinsert the battery into the e-bike.
2. Power ON the e-bike system.
3. Manually rotate the rear wheel and check the e-bike display to ensure speed is being detected and displayed. The EPAspeed is set by default to 50 kmh.
4. Once the tuning function is confirmed, follow the next steps below:
Pairing the EPAspeed with the EPAspeed App
1. Install the EPAspeed App
Download and install the EPAspeed App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Enable Bluetooth
Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device.
3. Launch the App
Open the EPAspeed App
4. Connect to the Device
In the list of available devices, select the address in bold characters.
o If the device does not appear verify the following:
- The e-bike is switched ON.
- Your mobile device is within 5 meters of the e-bike.
- Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
5. App Functionality
Once paired, you can use the app to:
- Control tuning functions
- Monitor ride data
- Adjust the speed limit and other settings
STEP 8 – Positioning the Tuning Module for Optimal Bluetooth Signal
1. Position the Module Correctly
Carefully route the motor connectors and wiring back into the designated space within the e-bike frame. Ensure the EPAspeed module remains slightly extended outside the frame to prevent interference from the metal structure, allowing optimal Bluetooth signal transmission
2. Place the EPAspeed module inside the plastic motor cover, ensuring the Bluetooth logo is facing outward.
This orientation is essential to guarantee maximum Bluetooth connectivity during operation.
STEP 8 – Reinstalling the Motor Cover
1. Carefully reposition the motor into its original mounting location, ensuring that no cables are pinched or damaged during the process.
2. Insert and securely tighten the motor mounting screws to fasten the engine to the frame.
3. Reinstall the plastic engine cover and fasten it using the appropriate screws.
4. Reinstall the display.
⚠️ Take extra care to route all cables properly before tightening the motor.
