EPASPEED 1.0 B.TUNING FOR YAMAHA – INSTALLATION GUIDE
Belangrijk:
• Keep the bike’s engine TURNED OFF during installation.
• Remove the battery form the e-bike according to the manufacturer manual
STEP 1 – Preparation for Installation
Before beginning the installation, ensure you have the following tools ready:
1. Hex Key H3
2. Inbussleutel H8
3. Precision slotted screwdriver
Pre-installation Steps:
• Switch OFF the e-bike.
• Remove the battery from the e-bike following the manufacturer’s instructions.
STEP 2 – engine cover removal
1. Using a Hex Key H3, unscrew the four screws securing the engine cover.
2. Carefully remove the engine cover and set it aside.
Step 3: Lowering the Engine
1. Using a Hex Key H6, slightly loosen the bottom screw securing the engine.
2. Fully unscrew and remove the two upper mounting screws.
3. Carefully tilt the engine downward and outward from the frame to gain access to the engine connectors and wiring.
STAP 4 – De connectoren van de motor loskoppelen
1. Using a precision slotted screwdriver, carefully disconnect the speed sensor connector from the engine.
2. Repeat the same process to disconnect the display connector.
STAP 5 – De EPAspeed-tuningmodule installeren
1. Connect the EPAspeed connectors to the corresponding connectors previously disconnected in Step 4.
2. Ensure that all connector locks are fully seated and secured to prevent disconnection during operation.
3. Controleer vóór het opnieuw monteren van de motor de bedrading nogmaals aan de hand van het referentiediagram om de juiste plaatsing en routing te bevestigen.
STEP 6: Verifying Tuning Functionality
1. Reinsert the battery into the e-bike.
2. Power ON the e-bike system.
3. Manually rotate the rear wheel and check the e-bike display to ensure speed is being detected and displayed. The EPAspeed is set by default to 50 kmh.
4. Once the tuning function is confirmed, follow the next steps below:
Pairing the EPAspeed with the EPAspeed App. Install the EPAspeed App
Download and install the EPAspeed App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Enable Bluetooth
Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device.
3. Launch the App
Open the EPAspeed App
4. Connect to the Device
In the list of available devices, select the address in bold characters.
o If the device does not appear verify the following:
– The e-bike is switched ON.
– Your mobile device is within 5 meters of the e-bike.
– Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
5. App Functionality
Once paired, you can use the app to:
– Control tuning functions
– Monitor ride data
– Adjust the speed limit and other settings
STEP 7 – Positioning the Tuning Module for Optimal Bluetooth Signal
1. Position the Module Correctly
Leid de motorconnectoren en bedrading zorgvuldig terug in de daarvoor bestemde ruimte in het e-bikeframe. Zorg ervoor dat de EPAspeed-module iets buiten het frame uitsteekt om interferentie met de metalen structuur te voorkomen, zodat een optimale Bluetooth-signaaloverdracht mogelijk is.
2. Plaats de EPAspeed-module in de plastic motorkap en zorg ervoor dat het Bluetooth-logo naar buiten wijst.
Deze oriëntatie is essentieel om maximale Bluetooth-connectiviteit tijdens gebruik te garanderen.
LET OP: Zorg ervoor dat de module niet wordt geblokkeerd door metalen onderdelen of ingesloten is in het frame.
STEP 8 – Reinstalling the Motor Cover
1. Plaats de motor voorzichtig terug op de oorspronkelijke montageplaats en zorg ervoor dat er tijdens dit proces geen kabels bekneld of beschadigd raken.
2. Plaats de motorbevestigingsschroeven en draai ze stevig vast om de motor aan het frame te bevestigen.
3. Plaats de plastic motorkap terug en bevestig deze met de juiste schroeven.
