De MAHLE Ebikemotion X35 engines are designed specifically for e-road bike. The innovative Ebikemotion X35 De motor is een naafmotor met slechts 40 Nm koppel. In tegenstelling tot conventionele motoren die ondersteuning bieden op basis van cadans of vermogen, levert de Ebikemotion X35 vermogen op basis van hoe snel de cassette draait ten opzichte van de naaf. Dit ontwerp betekent dat de Ebikemotion X35 drive can be tricked into riding with basically no input from the rider. As long as you keep the cassette and hub turning together, the motor continues to push forward – there’s no torque sensor to detect your lack of pedalling input as the system operates based on the speed of your cassette in relation to how quickly the wheel is turning.
In 2022, Mahle released the new EbikeMotion X20 aandrijfeenheid die in de voetsporen van andere fabrikanten treedt en een krachtigere en lichtere motor ontwikkelt. Sterker nog, de EbikeMotion X20 motor delivers a torque of 60Nm (50% more torque than the X35 motor) and weights only 3.2 kg (10% lighter than the X35 motor).
