Il produttore statunitense Specialized is well known in the e-bike industry for innovation, performance, and outstanding quality of build. It does not come as a surprise to see many ebike manufacturers following their footprint. Specialized equip their ebike fleet with the Brose engines but with a completely redesigned software which deliver a smoother support behaviour and an extremely natural driving experience. Another appealing feature of these engines is the decoupling of the crankshaft and the motor shaft. As a result, there is no pedalling resistance when you ride faster than the maximum supported 25 km/h (without tuning).
There are now several generations of the Specialized engines which have been continuously optimized. The company’s most important engines at the moment include the Specialized 1.2 (50 Nm), ottimizzato per un consumo energetico particolarmente basso, il più potente Specialized 1.3 (90 Nm), e il Specialized 2.1 (90 Nm) which is extremely light and has been tailored for e-mountain bikes with a pedalling power of up to 410% for climbing steep hills. The Brose Drive S Mag engines serves as the basis, but it was also equipped with its own software. All Specialized Turbo Levo FSR I modelli sono dotati di questi motori a partire dall'anno modello 2019.
