EPASPEED 1.0 B.TUNING FOR FAZUA – INSTALLATION GUIDE
Important:
• Keep the bike’s motor TURNED OFF during the entire installation.
• If necessary, remove the battery from the e-bike according to the manufacturer’s manual.
STEP 1 – Preparation for Installation
Before beginning, ensure you have the required tools and a clean workspace.
STEP 2 – Remove Engine Cover and Engine Screws
Left Side of the Bike
1. Remove the screws securing the plastic engine cover.
2. Remove the screws that secure the engine to the frame.
3. Remove the center screw and the bottom screw holding the engine cover (depending on the bike brand/model).
Right Side of the Bike
1. Remove the chain guide.
2. Push the derailleur toward you to release tension from the chain.
3. Remove the chain from the front sprocket and place it on the chain stay, out of the way.
On some bike models, there may be up to 3 additional screws securing the rear side engine covers.
STEP 3 – Remove the Engine
If necessary, gently extract the engine from the frame.
Take extra care not to pull or stretch any wires or connectors.
STEP 4 – Locate the Correct Wires and Connectors
⚠️ WARNING: Make sure the motor is switched OFF at all times.
Several connectors look similar—incorrect connections may cause engine malfunction.
Pay close attention to the following:
1. Speed Sensor Connector
• Locate the thin wire coming from the chainstay into the motor.
• This is the speed sensor cable.
2. Battery Power Connector
• Locate the thicker wire connected to the battery.
STEP 5 – Installing the EPAspeed Tuning Module
1. Inserting the Connectors
Plug the e-bike connectors (removed in Step 4) into the matching EPAspeed connectors.
Ensure each connector is fully inserted.
2. Verify Wiring Configuration
Before reassembling, visually inspect:
• All connectors are correctly matched
• No wires are pinched
• Wiring matches the reference diagram
STEP 6 – Verifying Tuning Functionality
1. If the battery was removed earlier, place it back into the bike and ensure it is fully locked in position.
2. Switch the e-bike ON.
3. Manually spin the rear wheel and confirm speed detection on the display.
o The EPAspeed is pre-configured to 50 km/h.
4. After confirming proper operation, proceed with Bluetooth pairing.
Pairing the EPAspeed with the EPAspeed App
1. Install the App
Download the EPAspeed App from:
• Google Play Store
• Apple App Store
2. Enable Bluetooth
Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone.
3. Launch the App
Open the EPAspeed App.
4. Connect to the Device
Select the device shown in the list.
If the module does not appear:
• Ensure the e-bike is switched ON
• Keep your phone within 5 meters
• Verify Bluetooth is enabled
5. App Functions
Once paired, you can:
• Adjust tuning settings
• Change speed limits
• Monitor ride data
• Configure advanced options
STEP 7 – Positioning the Module for Optimal Bluetooth Signal
1. Install the EPAspeed module with the Bluetooth logo facing outward, away from the motor.
2. Ensure the module is not blocked by metal components, covers, or frame elements.
STEP 8 – Reinstall the Engine and Engine Cover
1. Position the Module
Carefully arrange the EPAspeed module and all wiring neatly inside the motor compartment.
2. Correct Module Orientation
Verify the Bluetooth logo is facing outward for best signal.
3. Reinstall the Engine (if removed)
Gently place the engine back into the frame, ensuring no cables are pinched.
Tighten the engine screws following the same pattern as in Step 2
4. Reinstall the Motor Cover
Align the cover with its original position and refit it without forcing.
5. Secure the Screws
Install all screws and tighten them evenly.
