NOTE: Conventional tuning modules offer only limited functionality compared to today’s e-bike standards. The "+ E-Tube port" variant is intended for e-bikes without a free E-Tube port - usually e-bikes with one of these components.
NOT COMPATIBLE with Shimano engines WITHOUT a free E-TUBE port in the engine
Compared to previous versions, this new product also plugs into the engine's E-Tube port. It is therefore necessary that the e-bike motor in which you are going to install the new version of SpeedBox for Shimano has one free E-Tube port. It is not possible to install SpeedBox products for Shimano without a free E-Tube port in the engine.
SPEEDBOX 1.3 SHIMANO
The new SpeedBox 1.3 enables to double the speed limit of an e-bike from the original 25 km/h to 50 km/h. When in use, the actual speed will appear on your display up to 23 km/h. Then the speed indicator gets stabilised and keeps on showing the same value even at higher speeds.
HOW DOES THE SPEEDBOX 1.3 SHIMANO WORKS?
The SpeedBox is activated when the lights are turned off. The chip can be deactivated by turning the lights ON. If you want to use the tuning independently of the lights then do not connect the red wire during installation and then the tuning will be always activated. If you do not have lights on your e-bike then the SpeedBox 1.3 will be activate at all times.
ASSEMBLY
When connecting the SpeedBox chip to an e-bike you will find connectors coloured to make installation very simple. We have prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation easy for you. Disassembly of our tuning chip is just as easy. If you have any troubles with installation or disassembly, do not hesitate to contact us.
If you are planning to install SpeedBox on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride it for at least 1 km before the chip is activated.
